What we actually do for CSR

  • Our Christmas action has successfully finished! We managed to make parcels for 3 (THREE!!!) families.
  • Although the action started with just a couple of volunteers and only 1 family, in only a week we managed to get almost all the employees involved and ended up with huge parcels for 3 families.

There were household cleaning products, cosmetics, dry food, food cans, and lots of sweets in each of the parcels and families received also additional products they needed, such as: shoes, school notebooks, pencils, pens, crayons, a baby doll, a funny book, pillows and quilts.

I would like to thank you all for joining this beautiful action. The products that you brought made the parcels look really impressive. I would also like to thank Richard and Karol for their decision to get the PMR involved and contribute extra money to fill in the product gaps.
Also Magda MG, Gosia M and Marcin S. deserve special thanks for spending their time and effort to transport the huge parcels to the warehouses.

    Grudzień 2006, Ewa Kunstman

  • Today, me, Ania Cygan and Richard transported all collected things to Zespół Placówek Opiekuńczo - Wychowawczych nr.2 http://domdziecka.com.pl/index2.html

Thanks to employees' kindness children will get toys, clothes, cosmetics, balls, books, notes and pens and many other things. As Richard mentioned, it is just the beginning of our cooperation. The director - Mrs. Małgorzata Nicpoń - is going to discuss with her staff other possibilities. Suggestion from PMR side are: professional career advice, magic show by Marek Lorek (www.magiamirage.pl)

  • PMR Supports Children's Home
  • Once again PMR had a chance to help children in need. This time we've decided to use a potential (magic potential) of one of our employees. On 28th of November Marek Lorek was a special guest during the Andrzejki Party in the Children's Home number 2 in Kraków, giving a 40-minut wonderful, magic performance. As you may guess, kids were absolutely delighted!

  • Christmas Eve in Children's Home
  • Once upon a time in nowy Krakow, two girls from PMR transformed into Santa Clauses and started organizing donations for Zespół Placówek Opiekuńczo - Wychowawczych - a children's home in Krakow.

Thanks to help from PMR's dedicated and generous team of Elves, 46 children received wonderful Christmas gifts, when they would ordinarily have had nothing.

On 20th of December, PMR's Santa Clauses were then invited to a Christmas Party organised by the charity, where they had the opportunity to see the children playing in the Christmas Show and to join in singing beautiful Christmas carols.

  • Collection for Krakow's animal shelter
  • It took place in December 2007 in harsh winter time and owing to kind hearts and generosity of those who got interested in the action and got involved in it, we managed to collect a box of pasta, rice and pet food. Our contribution was greatly appreciated by people in the shelter.

On behalf of the shelter for homeless animals in Krakow I would like to warmly thank those of you who decided to help.

  • Going green in the office - Recycling project in PMR
  • In PMR we are trying to reduce the amount of wastes in the office.

Due to our colleagues ideas we are urged to save energy and paper, printing on both sides of a paper sheet, and shutting down computers and monitors after work.

Moreover, recently we started to separate wastes.
We started with small things like separating paper and plastic hoping to develop the system when the awareness on ecology grows in the office.

Thus, we are trying to create an ecological environment in the company and save on some regular expenses by changing the garbage disposal company into one that is taking the separated and recyclable wastes for free.

Seeing how the garbage segregation works in the office some of our workers started to separate wastes in the homes too, what is the best reaction we could expect!

  • Work fair and workshops for students
  • During the Career Days, that we usually participate in, PMR senior managers held workshops and presentations in subjects of motivating the team and project management in Central and Eastern Europe. Workshops as always were a unique opportunity to talk to young people and find out about their opinions to the lectured subjects. We got the positive feedback for our managers so we will be glad to use the same opportunity next time when we are invited to the work fair.

  • Enterprise Day with PMR – high school teenagers interested in business
  • On the 3rd of April PMR participated in the Enterprise Day organized by Fundacja Młodzieżowej Przedsiębiorczo¶ci, and which is modeled on the US Junior Achievement and UK's Young Enterprise programs.
Our company was visited by seven teenagers from two High Schools, three of them motivated enough to come to us from Jastrzębie Zdrój!
The main objective of the program was to help young people to understand how middle size, international companies (like PMR) are working, to give them an insight into economy and business by sharing our experiences and of course inspire a desire for enterprise!
So apart from a tour around the company and presentation of PMR prepared by Richard, our guests had some practical exercises concerning sales and marketing.

  • PMR for “U Siemachy” Association
  • Once again PMR had a chance to help children in need. This time we collected money for the U Siemachy Association, a non-governmental, non-for-profit organization helping young people in life?s dire straits by providing them with material, psychological, and educational support.

PMR decided to offer this Association twice the amount of money that employees would have collected. So, for every 1 zł that we donated, PMR gave 2 zł more. It was also decided that, instead of just giving the money directly, we would have bought some of the tools and supplies required to equip their Art Room.

On the second of June Karolina S., Ania C. and Marek visited the ?U Siemachy? association. Thanks to your support, we managed to bring there many things that the kids will need in their art room (watercolours, poster paints, water- souble paints, crayons, pastel sticks, etc.), in addition to 10 dictionaries that will help kids in learning English.

During that meeting, Marek Lorek as a special guest performed a 50-minutes magic show. All the children (mostly among 3 and 18 years old) deeply enjoyed Marek's magic performance, as well as the tutors. Some of them, especially a young 5 years old girl and couple of little boys, were really enthusiastic about his tricks and surrounded Marek after the show came to an end.

According to what we could experience at U Siemachy, we strongly believe the children will make use of our gifts and their "paintings" will be more colorful and even more joyful!

Many thanks to all those who contributed to make all this happening!!

  • PMR as sponsor and co organizer of AIESEC Krakow Reception Weekend 18.04
  • AIESEC Reception Weekend was a great chance for us to meet international team of interns working currently in Poland.
In order to give interns the opportunity to know PMR better we met them in their hostel and during the short presentation held by Richard Lucas (the Chairmen of the company) we made them aware of what kind of company we are, who PMR team are, what candidates we can be looking for etc. The presentation ended up with the friendly chat and we all moved to Midgard pub to socialize together. We spent great time talking, getting interesting views of distant cultures and dancing. It seems to be also the opinion of the interns since we got number of applications to work and internships after that:)

  • Study trip from Netherlands in PMR
  • In April we were hosting the group of students from Netherlands on they way of learning how to make business in Central and Easter Europe region. They were especially interested in social communication and had a lot of questions concerning our Marketing, Consulting, Publications and Research departments. We also showed them the career opportunities in a company like PMR, said few words about or culture of supporting individual development and had a very interesting chat about SEO. After that traditionally we invited the students to spend the evening/night together in lovely pubs of Krakow.

  • Enterprise Day with PMR – how about entrepreneurship in nursery school?
  • On the 21st of May we had another school visit. This time the challenge was even bigger: The children were between 3 and 4 years of age !!!
This was a pilot visit to see whether children from pre schools can have a successful company visit in the run up to Global Entrepreneurship Week that is taking part in November (Poland is part of GEW for this first time this year).
The experiment did exceptionally well – kids did a walk across all numerous room of PMR location at Supniewskiego, listened to funny stories about what specialists in each department do, experienced seating behind the desk with two computers and... counted our stairs :)
Preschoolers had also the opportunity to play sell-and-buy game with senior managers in PMR and it looked like both sides were happy about it.

  • PMR helps to fulfill children's wishes
  • Mam Marzenie is a non-profit organization which grants wishes to Polish children who suffer from life threatening conditions, bringing in their lives a ray of hope and joy in that difficult time of the illness of a child.
PMR regularly supports Mam Marzenie by donating money instead of paying respondents for participation in surveys. That is how we help to make the children?s dreams come true!
